Schedule
After an early breakfast you will leave Kampala and head to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have lunch either along the way or at the park upon arrival. In the afternoon you visit the “Top of the Falls” a truly magnificent highlight on your 1st day. Experience an explosive splash of water at close range as the water gushes through narrow crevices in the falls. You will then drive to the lodge where you will have dinner and enjoy your overnight stay at Pakuba safari Lodge or an equivalent.
We shall have early morning breakfast after which we go for the chimpanzee tracking briefing at Kaniyo Padidi. We then start our chimpanzee tracking. The evocative pant-hoot calls are characteristic of the forest and will contribute in guiding you to these delightful apes. Have lunch and in the afternoon, go to the top of the falls to view the thunderous Murchison falls. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge
After an early morning wake up call, you will enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee as you set off for a sunrise game-drive in the park. At this time of day you have the chance of seeing the big cats hunting, as well as elephant, giraffe, buffalos, plus more, as the checklist of mammals sighted reaches 76. You will continue browsing the circuits on the way through the Delta point for a variety of birds and mammals. In the afternoon you will enjoy a relaxed lunch and then go for a boat-cruise on the Nile River. This 3 hour boat ride, on the river, to the base of the falls takes you to where you will see hippo. This spot is a place where you have never seen more hippos yawning, or grooming in their natural family pods than anywhere else in Africa! Nile crocodile, elephant and a wide variety of bird species can be seen along the banks. Later in the evening you will return for dinner and your overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge or an equivalent.
After breakfast you will set off for the drive back to Kampala. Along the way you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where rhinos are being reintroduced to the wild in Uganda. Here you will go for a trek around the sanctuary spotting many fascinating animal. You could have lunch at the sanctuary or at another stop further along the way depending on the time.
You can expect to reach Kampala in the late afternoon, so plan for an evening flight. This is where your safari will end as you say farewell to Uganda or you can have possible extensions after day 4 for a trip to the source of River Nile.
