Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, embark on your journey to Jinja. The Road Trip will involve a stopover through the Mabira Rain Forest as the road transects through the forest. Upon your arrival in Jinja, we get to the lodge to enjoy lunch and in the afternoon we then make a boat trip to the source of River Nile or just relax at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at 2 friends hotel.

On this day, get set for an adventurous slot which starts with a pick up from your hotel to Jinja, a known spot for the best white water rafting on the entire African continent. Upon arrival, you will have breakfast and later be briefed by the instructors, be equipped with rafting gears/materials as you are joined by other rafters. This half day rafting will take you to the most popular rafting phenomena known as grade 5. You will have a break off for picnic lunch and some relaxation and continue with the activity till evening. You will retire for the day and be transferred back to Kampala, dinner and overnight at Las vegas garden hotel

After an early breakfast, you will be begin your 8 hours journey to Bwindi. This is a long day drive of approximately 8 hours with lunch stop over en route. Though long, the drive takes you through different features to include tropical rain forests, savannah fields and the terraced hills of Kigezi famously known as the Switzerland of East Africa. Arrival is late evening for relaxation as you wait for the next day’s adventure with dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Haven Lodge

After an early morning breakfast, and with your picnic lunch we then take a short drive to the park offices for briefing where we meet the excellent local guides and trackers who give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. We then hike into the forest to a spot where gorillas were seen the previous night and track from there. Trekking may take anything between 1 to 6 hours depending on the location of the family and altitudes which is in excess of 7500 feet. The terrain is rough and muddy calling for physical fitness. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. You will get a chance to meet the most indigenous people of Bwindi who used to inhabit the Gorilla forest before it was gazzeted as a national park. You will be entertained by their stories and cultural performances. You will transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Haven Lodge

After having breakfast at your pace, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for another lake side adventure. The canoe trek on Bunyonyi will introduce you to the major islands and their rich history, but also to a traditional healer and a craft maker who live on a peninsula with most complete views of the 25-kilometres long lake. There will be some little energetic hiking but also great time spent in traditional dugout canoes.

 You also have the option of visiting the Orugano rain Forest which has diverse plants and animals or spend some time interacting with the Batwa (pygmies) community who inhabit parts of the forest and its surrounding areas. Birders will treat themselves with well over 300 bird species recorded. Like Otters, pied kingfishers, swallows among others. You will have dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Birdnest Resort

After having breakfast, start on the drive back to Entebbe/Kampala with the memory of the great rare mountain Apes. Lunch en route, arriving                                                                                                                                                                                            late in the evening to be dropped at the hotel for a relaxed evening with the memory of the great apes. The overnight stay will be at Las vegas garden hotel

After having breakfast your driver guide takes you the exciting Kampala city tour starting with a visit to Kabaka’s palace, Namugongo Martyrs shrine for a great historic and cultural narration of how the 22 martyrs were burnt to death in the 1896 and then the Uganda Museum for a complete feel of Uganda’s economic, political, cultural and social history as portrayed in different galleries. You will have lunch en route as you enjoy the day tour. After the tour, you will be transferred to Entebbe international airport to readily catch your flight back home as you say farewell to the pearl of Africa!!
